Private Duty Nursing

Sophia needs a nurse who sees the person before the care plan.

Sophia's family is working with Angels of Care to welcome a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) into her home-care team. Dependable nursing coverage gives Sophia the skilled care and safety she requires while allowing her parents to work and earn a living. This is clinical nursing, but it is also relationship, patience, attention, and the steady reassurance that Sophia is safe while her parents are at work.

Meet Sophia

There is a whole person waiting beyond the equipment.

Sophia loves movies of every genre and keeps about twelve favorites in her current rotation. She enjoys music and especially loved participating in music therapy. She thrives when people engage with her, include her in conversations, and make her part of the activity instead of talking around her.

She adores her stuffed animals and loves peaceful walks outside around the pond. The right nurse will learn her rhythms, recognize her expressions, celebrate her personality, and understand that inclusion is part of excellent care.

Sophia's Care

Skilled eyes. Gentle hands. Consistent presence.

Sophia uses a chest physiotherapy vest, has epilepsy, receives GT/GB support, and requires suction. Her nurse must be prepared to follow her plan of care, administer treatments and medications, assess changes in her condition, and communicate clearly with her family and clinical team.

These responsibilities protect more than a schedule. They protect Sophia's breathing, stability, comfort, and ability to remain at home with the people and familiar things she loves.

The Opportunity

Care built around one child, not a hospital ratio.

Angels of Care describes the position as one-to-one pediatric home health nursing with flexible scheduling, consistent hours, weekly pay, around-the-clock clinical support, paid training, and simulation-lab education.

The agency's listing includes full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities with 8-, 10-, 12-, or 16-hour shifts based on availability. Applicants should review the official posting for current compensation, benefits, scheduling, and employment terms.

Weekend and PRN Hours

A meaningful way to supplement your nursing income.

This opportunity may be an especially good fit for a school nurse, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse seeking PRN or part-time weekend hours. A weekend shift can provide additional income while giving Sophia the dependable one-to-one care and inclusion she deserves.

Scheduling and employment remain subject to Angels of Care's application, credentialing, and availability requirements.

A Family That Appreciates Her Nurses

Skilled coverage is never treated as “just another shift.”

Sophia's family understands what reliable nursing coverage makes possible. As personal gestures of gratitude outside the nurse's agency compensation, the family has been known to buy a nurse a meal, send Tiff's Treats, and find other thoughtful ways to say thank you.

Additional coverage opportunities

Respite hours are part of Sophia's Medicaid coverage and may provide nurses with opportunities to accept additional hours outside their regular work schedule. When respite coverage is needed, the family generally offers available hours in the order responses are received, with each opportunity determined by the family's needs and schedule.

Meals, Tiff's Treats, and other expressions of appreciation are personal gestures from the family. They are independent of Angels of Care and are not guaranteed compensation or employment benefits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions?

Here are answers to common questions about Sophia's nursing opportunity, eligibility, scheduling, outreach, and family-offered appreciation.

How do I know this is a legitimate recruitment opportunity?

You may contact Angels of Care directly for verification through its contact page.

If I work at a hospital, can I also work for Sophia's family?

Yes. Nurses may work PRN shifts through a nursing agency outside their hospital shifts, subject to their employer's policies, agency credentialing, and scheduling requirements.

I have or previously held a CMA or CNA license. Could I become Sophia's nurse?

At this time, the family is only considering licensed LVNs and RNs. If you obtain one of those licenses, you are welcome to search current nursing openings through Angels of Care.

I work as a school nurse. Could I become Sophia's nurse?

Yes, if you hold an active LVN or RN license. You may apply through Angels of Care for available PRN, part-time, weekend, or other compatible shifts.

I am a school nurse and received a recruitment email. How did I get on the email list?

Research indicates that approximately 40% of school nurses are looking for additional opportunities to earn income. Sophia lives near approximately four school districts, and the family obtained school-nurse email addresses from publicly available information for a limited, geographically relevant recruitment effort.

I received a recruitment email mentioning additional compensation from the parents or guardians. How does that work?

When offered, additional compensation is paid directly by the parents, generally through cash or Cash App. Any offer is separate from Angels of Care and will be explained before the shift.

Do I have to sign an agreement to receive additional compensation from the parents?

Sometimes. When a qualifying pre-tax health account is used, the parents may require an agreement describing what the funds are paying for. Any documentation and payment terms will be discussed in advance and must follow applicable program, tax, agency, and employment requirements.

How often do the parents offer additional compensation?

It may be offered when a shift or weekend becomes especially critical so the parents can work. These offers are occasional, depend on the family's needs, and are not guaranteed compensation or employment benefits.

Does Sophia require a nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week?

No. Nursing is generally needed while Sophia's parents are working. Overnight nursing is not currently required, but early-morning, morning, daytime, and evening coverage can be essential.

How are a free meal, movie tickets, or Tiff's Treats provided?

If a meal is offered, it is delivered to the nurse during the covered shift. For movie tickets, the parents ask which theater the nurse prefers and provide a gift card within 30 days after receiving that information. Tiff's Treats are delivered to the nurse during the covered shift. These are personal gestures from the family, independent of Angels of Care, and are not guaranteed compensation or employment benefits.

Is there a standby list of nurses for open shifts?

No. Please watch for recruitment emails announcing available coverage opportunities.

Do Sophia's parents or guardians work?

They are able and want to work. In some situations, however, they need a nurse to be present before they can report in person to their workplaces. Dependable coverage protects Sophia while allowing her parents to earn income and maintain employment benefits.

One Nurse Can Change a Household

For Sophia, a staffed shift means safety. For her parents, it means being able to work and provide for their households without sacrificing their daughter's care.

A dependable private duty nurse gives Sophia skilled care, companionship, and the chance to live her life safely at home. That coverage allows her parents to earn a living with the reassurance that, while they are at work, Sophia is protected by a licensed professional who understands her medical needs, recognizes changes in her condition, and sees the person she is.
